Care instructions
To keep your board looking fabulous and ready for your next gathering, follow these simple and fun care tips:
Hand Wash Only: Give your board a gentle hand wash with mild soap and warm water. Think of it as a mini spa day for your board! Never submerge it in water; a quick sponge bath will do. You can pop those ceramic dishes in the dishwasher, however.
Dry Immediately: After its little bath, dry it thoroughly with a soft towel. No one likes to stay wet, and your board is no exception. For the best results, let it air dry standing up on a raised rack or standing on a towel to allow airflow on both sides. Avoid drying flat.
Avoid Heat: Keep your board away from dishwashers, direct sunlight, or heat sources. These can cause the board to warp or crack, and we want to keep it in top shape for all your entertaining needs.
Oil Regularly: To keep your board hydrated and looking its best, apply a thin layer of food-grade mineral oil once a month or as needed. Rub the oil in with a soft cloth, let it soak in for a few hours, and then wipe off any excess. This helps maintain its natural beauty and longevity.
Don't Stack Wet Boards: If you have multiple boards, make sure not to stack them while they are still wet. This can trap moisture and lead to warping or sticking.
Tackle Stains Naturally: If your board gets stained, a little lemon juice and baking soda can work wonders. Apply a few drops of lemon juice and a sprinkle of baking soda, rub it into the wood with a damp cloth, then rinse and dry.
Take caution with the knives: The charcuterie knives are sharp - please take care not to cut yourself. Also best to hand wash these.
Magnets are there to help board arrangement: The magnets will help you arrange your board in a variety of combinations - and hold the knives snug to the board! They are not strong enough to lift and move the board pieces altogether, however.
